As we cannot come to any sort of agreement in what to call DC2. DS is Owen, which we both loved and still do, and I'm now so worried that one of us is going to have to settle for a name they're not keen on for our second. DH has quite traditional taste, he thinks the names I suggest are pretentious. We don't know what we're having, but boys names in particular are proving a nightmare. Thomas, Ben, William, Sam, James, Andrew and Richard are out, and either Edward or Robert are going to be used for the mn but we don't want them as a first name. My suggestions of Henry/Harry, Rufus, Reuben, Corin and Vaughan have either been definitely vetoed or outright laughed at. Max, Dominic and Laurence are liked but have been used by close family members. DH liked Angus last time and still does but our surname's Scottish and we're not so it's overkill I think. Can anyone suggest anything before we seriously fall out over this!

Thanks for the suggestions. Love Reuben but DH hates it and won't even consider it. Quite like George, Dylan and Zachary but don't love them, certainly not in the same way that we loved Owen immediately. It's tempting to say I hope it's a girl but we're in nearly the same situation there too!

After a lot of debate DH has suggested Zachary, which I think is ok but not really my taste, whereas I'm now drawn to Rory which DH doesn't like (surprise surprise). Any opinions/preferences?

Rufus is fantastic!

Silas?
Seth?
Titus?
Jonah?

I love Rufus, but the meaning is 'red haired' which DH says doesn't have any resonance (LO is not likely to be ginger). I'm not convinced it's such a problem though...

I also love Zachary but am biased as that's on our shortlist too.

We are in the same spot as you - have a list of things we'd both consider, but definitely have not found 'the' boys name.

I´m sure lots of us have names where the original meaning doesn´t ring true any more!
