What do you think of the name "Aidan Oliver" as first and middle names? Do they work well together? I quite like the name Oliver as I like the idea of calling him "Ollie" for short.. but Oliver Aidan doesn't have the same ring to it... ?

I like it both ways, and I like both names. But to contradict you I actually think Oliver Aidan flows betterSmile

Aidan Oliver is a fantastic name. I prefer it this way round. Aidan is a classic name but fairly unusual too, whereas Oliver is very popular ATM.

dezfree · 02/01/2012 22:24

I think it sounds fine either way around. I do prefer Aidan slightly more than Oliver. But then if you are set on Ollie then use it Oliver Aidan

GlaikitFizzog · 02/01/2012 22:27

I prefer Oliver Aiden as I know of 5 Aiden/Aidan/Ayden born in the last year round here. But either way sounds fine.

I love the name Aidan - it would be on our shorlist if our surname didnt begin with 'A'!

Aidan Oliver sounds fine to me!!

Funny, we just named our son Oliver Aidan. What did you end up naming him?

Ellmau · 09/05/2020 18:36

Great combination.

⚠️ ZOMBIE THREAD ⚠️

This thread is from 2012.

Honestly, I don't see why bringing up these threads is necessary. This was 8 years ago, it's highly unlikely that the OP will come back to reply to new comments.

Aidan Oliver is great. Aidan is such a refreshing change from all the millions of Henrys, Theos, Charlie's etc....

@LotusClover if you search a name on google and a thread comes up, they probably comment without noticing the date. I did this so many times when I wasn’t familiar with Mumsnet
