Hello, I am due in April. Trying to think of girls names. DD1 is Isla and surname begins with R. Really loved Alice but a good friend has got in there first :-) Any suggestions welcome. A few we have discussed are:

Anna (Annie)
Clara
Emily
Eleanor

Anna and Clara are a bit too similar to Isla I think, as in both are two-syllable, ......a (though both are lovely names).
Love Eleanor and Emily's fine.

Grace?
Verity?

Love Eleanor & Emily.

I actually know somebody who has an Isla and a Skye but I'm not sure I'd recommend that :)

bigbadbarry · 02/01/2012 18:45

Jura. (Those were our cats' names ;) )

I know sisters Isla and Eleanor (nn Elsie) and Isla and Sophie.

BrigitBigKnickers · 02/01/2012 18:51

Eleanor

Sannebanana · 02/01/2012 19:08

Not too keen on Anna or Clara, don't think you want two 2 syllible names ending in A, as others have said. Quite like Emily and Eleanor though (but do you like Ellie, because chances are she'll be called that at some point). How about...

Isla and Amy
Isla and Chloe
Isla and Scarlett
Isla and Robyn
Isla and Eve
Isla and Daisy
Isla and Louisa
Isla and Amelia

Littlecherublegs · 03/01/2012 09:36

I think Isla and Emily go best from your shortlist.

I know an Isla and Isobel which I think is pretty too.

cece · 03/01/2012 09:42

Isla and Esme

3boysgirlontheway · 03/01/2012 09:46

Every time I see the title of this thread Grace automatically comes into my mind.

BlueChampagne · 03/01/2012 14:51

Isla and Tamsin

SilkStalkings · 03/01/2012 18:05

I would stay away from any more intitial/final vowel sounds eg Anna. However from your shortlist you clearly like them!

Puffykins · 03/01/2012 18:12

Clova? It's the Glen next to Isla.

donandpea · 03/01/2012 20:56

CrackerHatsandStetsonsAreCool · 03/01/2012 22:53

The two Islas I know have sisters called Bree and Poppy.

I like Emily.

JestersHat · 03/01/2012 23:02

I love Anna and Clara.

How about

Fiona
Honor
Marit
Juno
Charis

Thank you for all the replies and suggestions. I really like the suggestions of Faye and Tamsin. I also love the name Grace but it is DD middle name! DH likes Emily, but I do worry about the popularity. I like Eleanor but not so keen on Ellie, which I think will inevitably happen :/

I'm stuck on Clara again now I think.... lets hope it's a boy as we've agreed on Samuel Christopher.

I also have a DD named Isla and am also contemplating names for DD #2 due in March. Right now my frontrunner name is

Audra

I do't mind having two names that end in the "a" sound but that's something for you to decide on. Goo luck!
