Do you get this every time you say your baby's/DC's name? And if yes, what's your child called? Trying to get a feel for unique but not too out there names.

I am proud of my Reuben. I love it and we call him Ruby for short which I also love, and which is a famous jockey's name (big horse racing family here).

Was also going to add that a friend of mine has a Genevieve and I would love to call my daughter that (but girls are never going to happen in this family).

I've always had lots of positive (though possibly insincere) reactions to my dd's name: she's Sorrel.

I actually love Sorrell, but so many people here wear Sorrell boots that it'd be a no go. :)

I understand where you are coming from. It was am important factor on deciding daughters name. Dont wish to out myself so won't disclose it but it doesn't appear on top 100 list and I'm very pleased about it.

We have had loads of that's a beautiful name which is lovely. However noone knows how to spell it properly which I never envisaged!

My 10 week old dd is Eva Lily and most people seem to like it. I'm a teacher so choosing a name was very difficult! We didn't tell anyone her name before she was born because we loved it and didn't want anyones opinions clouding that.

My DD3 is Tess and everyone has loved that. DD1 is Poppy and she had a lot of really positive comments, esp when she was little (she is almost 8 now)

I have a Clara and we have had lots of admiration and beautiful names for that name. Her twin is called Sally and doesn't seem to draw the same reaction but I love it.
