we really like the name holly for a girl, it's really the only name we can absolutely agree on but the baby will be a late spring/early summer baby and i have a real thing about baby hollys being winter babies. dh says i am being daft (and i know he is right really) but what do you reckon? does it matter?
still have lots of time to decide but dd was her name from about 15 weeks, because at that time it was the only name we could agree on Xmas Grin

I have an August born Holly and no one bats an eyelid! I am the opposite to you in that if I were to use a 'seasonal' name I would want to use it AWAY from that season, IYSWIM!

It's a great name any time of year!

TCOB · 23/12/2011 16:51

I have a July 'May' and no-one assumes she was born in May! Holly is a really beautiful name.

oddly, holly is the only name i think of as seasonal Xmas Grin
i love 'may'; my gran was a january may, and i would love to use it as a middle name, might have to work on dh thoughXmas Grin

I have an August born niece Holly and she is just sooooo gorgeous. All blonde hair and brown eyes and the sweetest smile.

Use it.

EsmeWeatherwax · 23/12/2011 23:55

I love Holly, not least cos it's DD2's name. She's an April baby too, no-one ever mentions it. Gorgeous name.

broccolitrees · 24/12/2011 06:40

we're going to use it Xmas Smile
we both love it and don't really love anything else, or if one does the other doesn't. we have loads of time to change our minds but i bet we don't Xmas Grin - we were the same with dd
we need to agree on a boys now

Holly May sounds nice.

pommedenoel · 27/12/2011 15:52

We have a spring Holly too. I think it's a really lovely name - classic but still fits in with sounds of modern names.

Have been asked just once in nearly two years if she was born at Xmas.

AnotherMincepie · 27/12/2011 17:58

Nice name for a baby born at any time.
