Right, thumbs up or thumbs down to our final choices of names (two for each gender)

Pasha Theodore Alex
Leonard Theodore Phoenix (Lenny)

Saffron Eleanor Hero
Violet Eleanor Calypso

Other DCs are Tobias, Jago, Sorrell and Asa.

That should be Pasha Theodore Axel

Love all of them, esp. Pasha. Your DCs names are lovely too Smile

CointreauVersial · 18/12/2011 18:13

Like them all, except Lenny - also, it doesn't go with the other DCs' names.

BroomBuBuBum · 18/12/2011 18:21

Really really don't like Pasha or Saffron. Leonard is ok. Love love violet, beautiful name.

Catsu · 18/12/2011 18:23

Leonard and violet are very nice. Pasha and saffron not so much!

Catsu · 18/12/2011 18:24

Although love hero, much nicer than calypso as mn

nooka · 18/12/2011 18:28

Well it's really entirely up to you and your dh. For me Pasha is just a bit odd. I see that it is a Russian diminutive of Pavel, and that makes sense because it does seem more like a nickname to me (plus I think it's quite feminine). Lenny is quite cool I guess.

I quite like Saffron, but I don't think you should have two herb/spice names, especially both beginning with an s. So I think Violet works better.

I like them all except Violet and Calypso.

AnotherMincepie · 18/12/2011 18:42

Out of those choices I'd pick...

Leonard Theodore Phoenix (Lenny)
Saffron Eleanor Hero

Personally I'm not keen on Pasha (too feminine), Calypso or Saffron.

seeker · 18/12/2011 18:51

Please don't call a boy a very feminine sounding name. It shouldn't matter, but it does.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 18/12/2011 18:55

Pasha is awful. It sounds far too much like a girls name.

GIrls... either of them. Neither articulately to my taste but nothing bad :)

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 18/12/2011 18:55

particularly. bloody autocorrect.

ChocolatEtVin · 18/12/2011 19:09

Most people expect DS3 to be a girl as his name is Asa so the fact that Pasha looks a bit feminine doesn't put me off.

seeker · 18/12/2011 19:16

Oh, good. Glad it down't put you off. Hope your son agrees! It's him who has to deal with people being surprised that he's a boy all the time!

ChocolatEtVin · 18/12/2011 19:21

Sorry seeker but how is it different to having a child named Alex or Sam - they could be either a boy or a girl. With names there is quite often gender ambiguity and I personally don't think it's an issue.

Don't like Pasha at all. Phoenix is dreadful. Do like Theodore. Saffron is pretty bad and Calypso is terrible. Love Violet and Eleanor.

lljkk · 18/12/2011 19:32

I prefer Phoenix to Pasha, tbh.
Pavel would be fine. Vaclav in homage to Václav Havel would be even better.

I call DC Pansies as a loving tease, well, Pasha... Pansy. Not good places to go on the birth certificate.
Personally I don't like Lenny, what's wrong with Leo as nn, or even Leon? Lionel, too.

Violet is cool.

seeker · 18/12/2011 19:37

If it's Alex or Sam everyone knows that coiled be a girl or a boy. (although, interestingly, my niece Sam is always assumed to be a man when she calls herself Dr Sam Lastname.) That's very different to calling a boy a girl's name, or one which most people in ignorance will assume is a girls's name.

talkingnonsense · 18/12/2011 19:44

Is asa not pronnounced Asher? Because if so, pasha is too similiar. I live Leonard at the moment cos of the big bang theory, but that might make it popular. Calypso is my favourite of the girls manes by miles.
