Love both but would never use Hattie as a given name, always Harriet. I like Harriet much more than Cecily but Cecily about a million times better than Hattie if no Harriet involved.

How is Harriet pretentious? It's a good strong classic English name.

I love Hattie and would have used it as a full name, but, my husband just does not like it.
