Hello, I would like your opinions on my boys name choice as its a little bit unusual and DH doesn't really like it but I think I can change his mind.

It's Ayrton.

pronounced air-ton, (yes, like the dead racing driver) I just love it and I think it goes well with our surname. I'm thinking about James as a middle name. I know some people won't like it but I need honest options please ladies!
Thanks. x

I like it as a name and it goes well with James. I don't think there's anything wrong with pronouncing it Air-tun as that's how all the old F1 commentators say Senna's name!

It is quite unusual, so if you have other children in future (or indeed have them already!) it might be quite a difficult 'match'.

I think the point is that you r DH doesn't like it. Choose something you both like.

I don't think it's bad, but if someone called their son Ayrton where I live I'd assume his name was Hareton and they were dropping the 'H'.

We're big Senna fans and were considering calling our DD Senna until I remembered about Sennakot!

Ayrton is lovely, although as mentioned it's not the Brazilian pronunciation. And Ayrton James goes nicely. He will have to spend a lifetime spelling it though...
