Initials: GAS

My cousin is about to have a baby,. She is naming her Georgia Anne S* (surname). I immediately noticed her initials will be GAS and pointed this out. Cousins reply "Yeah we noticed that but she'll get married one day". So she has to put up with GAS for 20+ years in case she gets married and then hopefully she doesn't marry Mr Smith.

Are people really arsed about initials? She'll only really be GS though won't she? People don't really use middle names IME.

GAS is not so bad, could be much much worse!

Unless of course your surname is Mann, Pipe, Main, or Cookingon then its a definite no no

If the surname is Mann, Pipe, Main, or Cookingon, then the initials wouldn't be GAS.

I had a teacher who was a GAS (guess there was already a GS when she joined) we use to call her Gas to her face - she answered to it and would sign things GAS.

There are worse initials than GAS - you could be Caitlin Una Natasha Thomas or Francis Una Catherine Knox. GAS would be nice compared to them.

I also think full initials (wherer it is all letters) is only used in certain cirmumstances - it isn't common place.

She could swap the first and middle names so it's AGS, then use the middle name. Personally I wouldn't like to have the initials GAS.
