There's a little girl in my nieces nursery and I think scarllett is a really pretty name. What do we think of the scarllett rose thing. I suppose her mum realised she was calling her little one red rose... surely? Either way I think its quite cute.

Oh that's OK then! TBH I hadn't really noticed the red rose thing. It is quite cute actually!

Not to my taste, let's just say...

I think it's a bit naff to be honest, but then I don't really like the name Scarlett, I see that it's shooting up the popularity ranks so I guess lots of other parents do.

JamieComeHome · 06/12/2011 05:37

I like the name Scarlett - but I think it's one of those names that carries a bit of a burden, as it's quite feisty, IYSWIM. Like Grace, when the child may not end up very Graceful, or Chastity .....

I don't like doubled-barelled

ThePoorMansBeckySharp · 06/12/2011 06:56

I think Scarlet has been done to death, to be honest.

talkingnonsense · 06/12/2011 07:08

I think it's really pretty, but therefore will be very popular.

mopsyflopsy · 06/12/2011 07:09

Rose seems to be the default middle name these days.

nicknamenotinuse · 06/12/2011 07:11

I agree, every middle name I hear is Rose at the minute. Very unoriginal. Sorry.

EdithWeston · 06/12/2011 07:32

I think it's a lovely name.

Both parts of it are in pretty frequent use, and have been for some years.

hellokitty123 · 06/12/2011 11:19

I'm not a fan of Scarlett - sounds like a little scar.

Rose is pretty but agree quite overused as a middle name these days.

ChooChooWowWow · 06/12/2011 14:18

There is a Scarlett Kate in my DDs class. She's the only Scarlett I know.

I think it's a lovely name

MamaLazarou · 06/12/2011 14:20

Scarlet's nice. What would you call her for short, though - Scar?

ShengdanRoad · 06/12/2011 14:41

Scarlett has become a huge cliche. I've never understood why it's so popular, given that it rhymes with harlot, and contains the word "scar".
