... more an old man name question.

I'm very bad at remembering names. I'd love to be someone who always remembers people's names, but no matter what I just can't.

One old bloke walks his dog at the same time as I walk mine, so we chat every day. I asked him his name last week and I've forgotten. I don't have to use his name, but it's bugging me what it is! He's probably in his early 70's if that means anything at all.

Name is a typical old man name, two or more syllables, not currently fashionable, something like Bernard or Ronald or Herbert or Derek.
It has a common short version that a lot of people use, but this guy said the long version, like Timothy/Tim or Frederick/Fred.

I know if I see the name I'll remember it but my mind is just a blank. Give me some ideas pleeeeeease, I'll look such a fool if I have to ask again Blush

No offence to anyone with boys named any of the names I've mentioned by the way, I just mean it's not the one of the old man names that's made a big comeback already, nor one of the classic boys names, it's 'of its time' IYSWIM.

Alfred
Percival?

Nope, none of those, part of me thinks it's Ronald or Reginald or Raymond but I'm thinking too hard now so it's clouding my (already rubbish) memory. Confused

Need to go off an do something different and it'll come to me!
