I have a lovely dd Imogen, next baby due January. We have our boys name sorted but are struggling with a girls name. Dh likes sylvie as did I but now I'm having doubts, middle names also appreciated.
I like allegra, cassia, agatha, he's not keen. Help!

Saskia

salvadory · 24/11/2011 06:47

I like saskia, dh loves it but there's a big brother link thatvwould make me hesitate to have both an Imogen and a saskia, is that stupid of me and am I the only one that would remember this?

If you love Saskia I wouldn't worry as in a couple of years the few people that currently see a link between the names won't anymore...

Personally I prefer Sasha (I know about 4 female Sashas but I know a lot of people associate it with a boy's name parti. in Russia/mainland Europe so that might put you off..)...

I think Imogen and Charlotte go really well together but Charlotte is my favourite girl's name so I would say that!

It took me a while to realize you meant the tv show big brother rather than an older sibling. I think the while deal with big brother is that it's all instantly forgettable trash. Nobody will remember. And none of your DD's peers will have a clue about big brother.

Lonnie · 24/11/2011 13:11

I have a Phoebe and when we were expecting no 2 everyone kept suggesting Imogen..

Rhubarbgarden · 24/11/2011 14:06

I didn't know what you meant about a big brother link either. I really wouldn't worry about that.

How about Bryony or Romilly?

FurryFox · 24/11/2011 14:08

I know what you mean about the bb link but I would imagine most people wouldn't, especially in years to come. I have an Imogen and a Sophie.

salvadory · 24/11/2011 16:32

I wanted Miranda but DH says no, our Imogen has Alice (which I love) as her middle name, we live in the North West and there is a town here called Romilly which sort of rules that out too (shame as I've always liked the name after going to uni with one).
None of the rest pass the DH test, what's the opinion on Sylvie? Is it a bit meh after Imogen?? We also rejected Sylvie in favour of Imogen last time so I don't know if this baby would be a bit short changed by getting a reject name IYSWIM?

Oh and if it helps at all I loved Sylvie for DD3 but DH said no and Imogen would have been DD4's name except there will be no DD4 Sad Lovely choices Smile

BibiBelle · 24/11/2011 17:09

Victoria
Susannah

FurryFox · 24/11/2011 17:19

Not keen on Sylvie personally but that may be because DH has a completely nutty off her rocker Aunt Sylvie so I always think of her.

It's what you and DH like though so if you both like it go for it. I think Imogen and Sylvie go well together.

BibiBelle · 24/11/2011 17:27

What about Sylvanna which could be either Sylvie or Anna?

BibiBelle · 24/11/2011 17:27

Beatrice?
