no

NewsClippings · 22/11/2011 12:13

Anna or Polly, yes.

But no to Pollyanna I'm afraid.

Surf25 · 22/11/2011 12:26

Have to agree with News - either Polly or Anna sound nice but not Pollyanna!

february1970 · 22/11/2011 12:41

Love it! Far more interesting than Anna or Polly alone. GORGEOUS feminine name!

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 22/11/2011 13:40

Not unless you want her playing the Glad Game ad nauseum.

MamaLazarou · 22/11/2011 14:25

A very silly name.

Montsti · 22/11/2011 15:26

I love it but prefer it as a first name I.e. Pollyanna Scarlett. Maybe it is a little frilly but you can use the nns.

MelinaM · 22/11/2011 15:44

No, awful 'American style' moniker. Scarlett is lovely, and Anna would be a lovely mn on it's ownSmile

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 22/11/2011 15:45

Don't like it. But prefer it to Scarlett.

vixsatis · 22/11/2011 15:47

Dreadful. A six year old can carry it off but it is ridiculous on an adult woman

noddyholder · 22/11/2011 15:48

no

shaketheshame · 22/11/2011 15:48

Oh no.Do you want her to be bullied ?

mumbrane · 22/11/2011 17:07

Awful! Polly or Anna. Pollyanna is cruel.

rookery · 22/11/2011 17:14

Polly yes, Anna yes, but I know people who use "Pollyanna" or "Pollyanna-ish" as an insult. (The character in "Pollyanna" is relentlessly, obliviously, pathologically, irritatingly cheerful). Sorry.

osculation · 22/11/2011 17:22

OK, I think it's a no then. DP and I both adored the film and it seemed like a lovely idea at first. I think it's a pretty name but I agree with Montsti that it's rather frilly and maybe better suited to a doll. Also what Vixsatis said about it not being quite the same for a grown up.

Thanks for all the input!

It's a difficult job this name choosing lark - before I got pregnant I thought I knew exactly what I'd call my children but it's not quite that simple.

I much prefer Polly to Scarlett though- Scarlett is pretty popular these days while Polly is unique and cool. But Pollyanna def a step too far!

Love the name Pollyanna - I wish I had been called that!

Not sure it goes as a middle name to Scarlett though.
