Cordelia

A lady at work is called Cordelia and it just strikes me as being incredibly beautiful and elegant. What are your thoughts?

I love it so want it but dh hates it this naming thing is so hard!

My mother would shed tears of joy if I called this baby Cordelia. It's been her favourite name since the dawn of time. I was obviously born before the dawn of time...

Lovely name. I know a couple (16 and 11) and it is a strong and pretty name.

Also reminds me of Brideshead, you could have Cordelia, Sebastian, Julia...and Brideshead. Perhaps just stop at 3 children!

Was also going to say Anne of GG. And Cordy in Buffy. I like it - it's on my list!

I have one and have loved it since I was a Green Gables fanatic fan as a child. It took till DD3 to get it but she's lovely bless her.

Yes I have read King Lear and yes, she is hanged at the end, but throughout the play she is the most morally upright character. I think it is a lovely name- definitely my favourite at the moment. Thanks for all your comments.

She is the only faithful daughter, in the play and in my life
It also means 'heart' in latin and the celtic meaning is 'daughter of the sea' which works very well with DD3's middle name which means 'son of the sea'

lockets - seeing as she is your future DIL I tend to believe you are a tad biased thank you none the less

You may wish to consider Cecilia which is another beautiful name, just happens to be DD2's MN
