Hi all

Due in feb and have settled on a boys name but for a girl love anouk, both of our other children have family middle names but nothing seems to work!

What do you think of

Anouk Mary
Anouk Vera
Anouk Patsy
Anouk Anastasia

God they all look awful, any suggestions?

I think Anouk needs a longish name beginning with a vowel, or a more unusual European or Russian name as a mn to follow it.

Anastasia fits the bill very nicely.
Mary, Vera and especially Patsy don't, imo.

How about
Valentina
Cecelia
Marguerite
Mariana
Xanthe
Melisande
Arabella
Annabel/ Annabella
Eloise
Elodie
Emmeline
Evalina
Elizabeth
Eliska
Astrid
Antoinette
Antonia
Angeline
Angelie
Olivia
Ophelia
Ursula/ Ursulina
Isolda
Ines

To keep the French theme, how about-

Cyprille?

My Haute Vienne based father has a neighbour whose DD is named this.

Psammead · 21/11/2011 19:39

Anouk is a gorgeous name.

ginaribena · 22/11/2011 20:35

Love love love Anouk, me and DH were really considering it for our 1st (but all 3 been boys!!!) Agree that 3 syllables sound good.

Rhubarbgarden · 23/11/2011 20:21

I love Anouk. How about Anouk Elise, or Anouk Simone?

hokeycakey · 23/11/2011 22:27

Anouk is beautiful, I'd go for a longer mn too. Love Valentina

LulaBear · 24/11/2011 04:10

Really sorry but heard Anouk and thought it was a "made-up" name. It must work for your family, but I must admit, thought it was made up. Either way, best wishes to the baby xxx

How about plain, lovely Eve? I have an Eve Anouk.

Taranta · 24/11/2011 05:49

I know an Anouk Mathilde which works v well IMO

reallacecurtains · 24/11/2011 10:01

I know a little Anouk, beautiful name, and I particularly like the above suggestion of Anouk Mathilde - also love Cyprille - meaning?

or Anouk Cybille

ThoseClementineShoes · 24/11/2011 11:13

I do like the longer names with it but see that you want to use family names. Can you go with variations of your names?

Anouk Marianna/Marilla/Marguerite/Marissa/Rosemary
Anouk Victoria/Verity/Elvira/Violet
Anouk Patrice/Patricia/Patience

Or what about adding an additional name?

Anouk Elizabeth Mary
Anouk Vera Alexandra
Anouk Emmeline Patsy

Rhubarbgarden · 24/11/2011 13:02

Aw, glad you like Simone! This one is going to be a Simone if it's a girl. Or possibly an Ingrid.

hokeycakey · 27/11/2011 21:24

Thoseclementineshoes thanks so much! That is a great help and given me lots of ideas!

Lovely name. Only ever heard it in the book 'chocolat'.

legallyblond · 29/11/2011 10:06

Can I just ask re Anouk (becasue I keep on seeing it about)... how is it pronounced? A-nook, as in "a nook and cranny"..? I assume I am wrong!!!!

hokeycakey · 29/11/2011 22:29

Yes it is a-nook!
