Name combinations, which ones work?

After some great feedback on my previous thread, DH and I have come up with some potential name combinations for our 3rd DC. Our first two DC have Irish names so we want to continue with that. We have just gone 20 weeks and have decided not to find out the sex so here are our potential name combinations for both -

Boys
Murphy Cormac
Seamus (Shay) Cormac
Fergus Cormac

Girls
Fionnuala Mairead
Orla Mairead
Maeve Orla

What are your favourites and which do you think work best together?

Seamus Cormac and Maeve Orla (snap!)

Not quite snap - Fergus Cormac and Maeve Orla.

Either of the bottom two boys' ones. Maeve is my favourite of your 1st names for girls but I think Orla Mairead is the best combination.

Murphy Cormac and Orla Mairead.

I love all of the names but my one question would be whether Maeve Orla would be mistaken for May Vorla?

othersideofchannel · 17/11/2011 09:12

All sound lovely and Irish Smile

upatdawn · 17/11/2011 18:37

Fionnuala Mairead and Murphy Cormac :)

Seamus Cormac and Maeve Orla

I love Shay! Smile

I love Seamus Cormac!

Maeve and Orla are both lovely, but does Orla Maeve flow better?

TheMadHatter74 · 18/11/2011 18:39

Good point, what middle names would you suggest that work with Maeve?

I like Maeve Orla and Seamus Cormac.

I wouldn't worry too much about how well they flow - as long as its not a tongue twister.

I'm with Upatdawn - Fionnuala Mairead and Murphy Cormac
