Middle names dilemma

Hey all, my due date was yesterday but still no sign of junior as yet. As I'm not sleeping at the moment, I spent all of last night awake thinking about names. DH and I have it pretty much narrowed down to Benjamin (will be called Ben) for a boy and Olivia for a girl (so popular, I know but I have always loved it and we can't agree on an alternative).

Bit stuck on middle names - any suggestions? Tend to like traditional/biblical names as you can see. Surname starts with Ta-

Benjamin James?

Olivia Grace?

Really like Benjamin James as my dad is James but DH bit worried about BJ as initials and also if too much 'jam' in there.

Grace is beautiful but my two friends used it as middle name for their DS.

ooh yes didn't think of BJ!

Olivia Catherine
Olivia Niamh
Olivia Rose
Olivia Eve
Olivia Jane
Olivia Alice

Benjamin David
Benjamin Thomas
Benjamin Isaac
Benjamin Matthew

Olivia Mae / May
Olivia Rae

Benjamin Mark / Marc
Benjamin Lewis
Benjamin Luke

Oooh, really like Benjamin Luke although slightly worried about BLT for initials - do you think that matters?

Also, what do you think of Olivia Beth? Had Olivia Mae all picked but sis-in-law beat me to it.

Olivia Ruth
Olivia Charlotte (not biblical, but hey!)
Olivia Rachel
Olivia Abigail

Benjamin Issiah
Benjamin Joseph
Benjamin Levi
Benjamin Joel
Benjamin Asher

I don't think you need to worry about BLT as initials - could be a lot worse!

How about Olivia Bethany?

goodgirl76 · 15/11/2011 17:06

Very pretty. Also love Olivia Charlotte. Thanks guys. Just need to run them past DH.

DH loved Benjamin Luke but not keen on Olivia Bethany. Back to the drawing board....

ooh whatever you do don't go for Olivia Grace, Olivia Mae or Olivia Rose. It's like there has been a ban on any other middle names for girls in the last ten years! With a --common- popular Grin name like Olivia I think it would be lovely for her to have a more unique middle name.

Why not look a little bit into your family history and use an old family name?

Or I love the sound of Olivia Helen - very grown up and classy. or Olivia Frances.

goodgirl76 · 15/11/2011 23:03

Not a bad idea to have an unusual middle name. Close family female names are

Martha
Esther
Kathleen
Margaret
Violet

Not sure if any of the above go though. So hard! Not made easier by baby boom amongst friends (about 10 babies in last yr) and trying to avoid replication of names.

I think Olivia Violet is loooooovely.....the 'V' in violet echoes the one in Olivia without being too much....it trips off the tongue I think!

Also like Violet Olivia!!!
