How would you pronounce it?
Is it So-feea [short o as in on] or
Soh-fya [long o as in open]

And it's going on my list. Ta!

Soe-fee-ya, in my book.

I might spell it Sofia. Hmm.

pranma · 14/11/2011 21:40

I think Sofia is a place isnt it?But in Istanbul Hagia Sofia is a church/mosque/museum so it must be a name-it means wisdom and is the name my cousin's dd has chosen for her new dd [Sophia]with Francesca as a middle name [Italian connections]

So-fye-uh in English because we pronounce i as eye. So-fee-uh in Italian.

Classic name with a lovely meaning :)
