Our first shortlist

We have a way to go yet (I am 16 wks pregnant this week) but have got a shortlist of boys and girls names that I would love your opinions on please? Surname is Crompton and dd is Scarlett Mae

Boys:
Ellis
William
Dexter
Flynn

Girls:
Hope
Alexa
Eliza
Laurel

Eliza and laurel, plus elliot for a boy, I think Ellis is too unisex.

I think Ellis is a lovely name, second choice would be William.

For a girl, Eliza would be first choice; the others are OK.

Out of those I would go for Ellis or Flynn for a boy and Alexa or Eliza for a girl.

Scarlett Mae is very pretty!

The only one I really don't like is Ellis.

I like William best from the boys' list. How about Elliot instead of Ellis?

I like Laurel and Hope from the girls' list.

Thanks all, I have a friend whose ds is Elliot and also dh cousin has just had a dd who is Eliot so can't have that but both are fine with us using the name Ellis if thats what we decide x

I like Ellis Flynn for a boy. Or Dexter Flynn also sounds good.

For a girl, Hope sounds really good with any of the others as a mn, and I like them all. Might depend how much you like Lexie/Lizzie/Ellie/Laurie as Alexa/Eliza/Laurel might become?

Boys names are lovely but not so keen on Flynn, sounds non name like to me iyswim?

Flynn - love it - nn Fly... (pronounced as in Fly away)

I love William and I quite like Flynn but do prefer Finn.

Out of all the girls names I prefer Alexa and Laurel, but appreciate that Hope is a nice name too.
