Love Emmeline, it's my all time favourite - but struggling with middle name for bump (sex yet TBC but I'm enjoying the process of thinking of names).

Something strong but slightly unusual.... considering Cordelia/Iris/Cecelia but not totally convinced. Suggestions most welcome :)

Something one syllable would sound best. Rose, Fay, Joy?

MamaLazarou · 09/11/2011 13:37

I think something fairly short and starting with a vowel. Olivia?

2BoysTooLoud · 09/11/2011 13:49

Jean? [maybe too ordinary].

greenzebra · 09/11/2011 13:56

I agree with the one syllable or maybe two

Anne
Skye
Cora
Dawn
Rosa
Isis

Beautiful name. There was an Emmeline Rose (Rose was her surname) at my school...I know Rose is an uber-popular mn at the moment but think it works well. Agree with a few others that a short mn would work best..

Emmeline is one of DH's favourite names. We know at least two, I know the middle names for "Emmeline Marie Mathilde" and "Emmeline Sophie Marie" (both French, but you prob could have guessed that :o )

I actually think you can have a long middle name with it. I prefer Iris and Cecilia from your suggestions. Cecile would be lovely.

BroomForMyChin · 09/11/2011 15:44

Ivy
Violet
Alice
Anna
Isobel

I think it needs a middle name that is as classic and timeless as itself to fit.

dearheart · 09/11/2011 17:38

Emmeline Iris is a gorgeous name.

Towndon · 09/11/2011 18:30

I like Cecilia best of your suggestions :)

Iris reminds me of eyes and I'm not keen on Cordelia.

DouzeQuinze · 09/11/2011 19:36

Love your suggestion of Emmeline Cecelia, how about Emmeline Clara?

Emmeline is a gorgeous name!

Emmeline Elizabeth.

Emmeline Jane
Emmeline Rose
Emmeline Lily
Emmeline Louisa
Emmeline Violet

I know they are popular middle names but they seem to go so well.

ImpYCelyn · 09/11/2011 21:12

Emmeline Elizabeth is lovely goodasgold

Rhubarbgarden · 09/11/2011 22:02

Emmeline Ruth
Emmeline Laura

fredandginger · 10/11/2011 08:22

Some great suggestions, thanks! My favourites now are

Emmeline Iris
Emmeline Elizabeth
Emmeline Clara/Claire
Emmeline Ruth
Emmeline Rosa

(hate Rose/May/Mae/Grace as middle names, I'm afraid, lacks imagination to me - but Rosa is just different enough from the norm to tempt me. Perhaps Emmeline Rosalind/Rosemary?)

But still waiting for something to jump out to me as much as Emmeline did. Or does that not happen with middle names?

With DC1 I struggled with the first name, although the middle names were sorted almost from the beginning.
