DC's named with the same first letter

I'd quite like to call another DC beginning with "H"....however when I (stupidly) mentioned this I was shot down in flames..Hmm

Surely there are plenty of families with: Angus and Alan or Casper and Clementine etc etc. I really can't see the problem. Clearly dealing with mail would be annoying etc but you'd save on name types Grin

So I'm just interested to know MN's views on this....

I know some who has 7 dc and they all begin with the letter J.....Smile

I knew a family who did with all their children, they had 4 and all had names beginning with K. As a kid I thought it was cool. As an adult I don't care whether other people do it or not - it's their business not mine. Do what you want and to hell with anyone who wants to criticise you, it's not as though the world is going to end if both your children have the same first letter.

I also know a large family, and they all have names beginning with the same letter. I suppose once you have started you have to commit to it, so have a good list of names ready if you plan on having more...

I know a mum, dad and son all with a J. I also know two sons and a dad all J - middle son A. Your choice surely.

I guess it's the fact with us it might be too 'samey' but surely over time it just becomes..well normal!

I wouldn't do it, I would hate to have a sister accidentally opening my post.

I knew a family of 6, who all had the same initials. While it was amusing when they were little (and about as cute as a family dressed in matchy-matchy Boden outfits), it caused a lot of confusion in senior school, and no end of offence and fury when they started opening each other's post.

As for name tapes, most of the time I don't bother - I use marker pens. All of our nametapes and labels are surname-only, so can be used for all of us. I know people who have nametapes made up name surname name (eg Emily Smith Peter) and they just cut off the unneeded name.
