Holly or Penny?

We're struggling to decide between Holly Alice or Penny Rose. Any ideas? I think we like Holly slightly better but it's quite popular at the moment and we already have a DS with a common name, basically because we couldn't agree on anything else at the time. It took a good few days after he was born to sort out his name and we want to be more prepared this time.

I would go for Penny, I like them both but I know quite a few Holly's so would prefer Penny. I think there are lots of the Lily/Tilly/Milly/Molly/Holly names so Penny would be a bit different.

I do love Alice though but it doesn't go with Penny too well, so I'd go with Penny Rose.

Should have said I don't really like Penelope. I think it might annoy me if we were to choose Penny and people called her Penelope thinking that was her proper name.

Penny makes me think of spending a penny and I would get tired of those jokes. You could combine them and have polly? Or Jenny? Don't see many of those these days!

Out of the two I prefer Holly but if it were a choice between Holly and Penelope I would go for the latter.

I think the suggestion of Polly is great btw.

Oh dear I hadn't thought about spending a penny! It's put me off a bit but best to have things like that pointed out.

I like Polly but DH doesn't. I've been wondering about Alice as a first name but he's not keen on that either. He's causing a lot of hassle, doesn't like many of my suggestions but won't come up with anything himself. It's looking like it might be Holly then. I really hope it's not a boy as we haven't managed to agree on one boys name this time...

One of my DCs is Penelope aka Penny. To my knowledge no-one has made the "spending a penny" joke.
