Sikh version of Anna - does it even exist?

We had DD4 name all picked out. But my DMum has just died and now both of us would love her to be honoured in DDs name.
DH comes from a sikh family and all other DCs have simple but punjabian/sanskrit first names (they have my surname - as DH thinks his is common, which it is)

I have searched but I can't find any at all.

So there isn't just a punjabian version of Anna but any name of either Punjabian/sanskrit that sound/look like Anna would be fine

Help please

Quick querry- so you arent doing GGS first letter of reading first letter of name? if you did for others are you doing it for middle name of DD4s mn? (sorry was wondering how you did it - what others did may come in handy one day)

I am expecting 3rd boy and really struggling for a name, but funnily enough 2 of my top names if I were to have a girl were:

Anjali
Anushka

Both could be abbreviated to Anna, and are generic Indian names not Sikh specifically - I loved Anushka this pregnancy!!!

If you have any suggestions for an easy to pronounce Indian boys name - already have a Roshan and Arjun... really struggling!

Anya?

According to this website, there is a Sikh name "Anna" which means "food"!

Bandwithering · 05/11/2011 22:24

I love the meanings of all those names, but not the names.

Anushka is lovely Ginarabena
