I know. I may be going crazy but, for a little girl, I kind of love Fable. It is pretty, it is feminine, it has a meaning, it has nickname potential (Fay? Belle?).

What do you think? Have I completely lost it?

Yes you have completely lost it!

Put it down to the pregnancy hormones and think of another name.

Littlefish · 01/11/2011 20:41

Ha ha ha. Ridiculous.

HettyAmaretti · 01/11/2011 20:42

Yes, you've lost it.

Mable, yes. Fable, no.

LaFilleSurLePont · 01/11/2011 21:12

You have indeed lost it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/11/2011 21:17

You are deffo going crazy.

BibiBelle · 01/11/2011 21:18

I like it Smile Then I also liked Ever and Story.

Wouldn't have ever used them though. It's one thing to like them, it's another thing entirely to actually USE them!!!

spotty26 · 01/11/2011 21:21

Hee hee.

How about Sable, more of a name (well sort of) and less of a noun.

I think Aesop when I see Fable.

If you watched the Colbys Sable was Stephanie Beecham's character.

BibiBelle · 01/11/2011 21:22

Our first dog was called Sable Grin

glittershoes · 01/11/2011 21:28

Damn.... I did think I may have gone completely cuckoo. Is it that bad?

It is isn't it?

OK... back to the drawing board...

What about Farrah or Brooke or Blythe?

Psammead · 02/11/2011 09:39

Oooh. I like it.

I mean, it is a bit nuts, but I totally get why you're tempted by it.

hiss42 · 02/11/2011 10:04

I like it! especially nn Belle without being another Isabelle! (millions round here).

3isamagicnumber · 02/11/2011 14:32

No!! What is wrong with 'normal' names these days??!!
Mable you could get away with but Fable is not a name (sorry!)

NoHunIntended · 02/11/2011 14:43

I like it. Fab for nn!

This family have a DD called Fable. here

LaFilleSurLePont · 02/11/2011 15:33

It is that bad,and it's too close to feeble.

LaFilleSurLePont · 02/11/2011 15:35

Yes,and look at the names they've called their other children. They were apparently expecting paint samples, and not babies.

HettyAmaretti · 02/11/2011 15:40

Ah, but I've just been looking at your profile.

If your an utter hipster or move in higher social circles then you can probably pull it off. If your a normal mortal it'll come across very badly. Best to have a 'sensible' middle name if you do go with it.

TBH I still prefer Mable

NoHunIntended · 02/11/2011 15:48

LaFille, if they were expecting paint samples, they should have gone for a mainstream name like Matt! Am loving Reverie, Fable and Boheme!

Ephiny · 02/11/2011 15:51

I actually quite like it in a way, it's got quite a pretty look and sound. Not sure I'd use it myself though...

LaTristesse · 03/11/2011 15:30

I love it! I've just added it to my shortlist for a mn...

loudee · 03/11/2011 19:20

i love it but agree with hetty about choosing a middle name too

featherblue · 04/11/2011 07:55

Love it

comedaygoday · 04/11/2011 08:52

Ghastly, please don't do it.
