I can't stand Wilhelmina (too fussy, long etc to go with DS name, Surname and us generally) but we really like Willa

So what do you think of it - Willa?

The name Wilhelmina would pop into my head if I met a little Willa, just as Elizabeth would if I met a Liz.

I like it, don't associate it with Wilhelmina, just like I see Libby as a name, not just a NN of Elizabeth.

In fact I may just put it on my hypothetical DC2 listv :o

Very nice indeed.

I really like it. Have never considered it but I like it. There's an author called Willa Cather, isn't there?

HauntedHengshanRoad · 01/11/2011 04:23

It's a bit Nigella/Thomasina.

mathanxiety · 01/11/2011 13:40

Willa Cather is the Willa I think of -- it has an old Dutch/German-American feel to it imo.

QueenVictoria42 · 01/11/2011 13:52

I don't associate it with Wilehmina either, but to me it feels unfinished or a male name that's been feminised like Nigella.

I much prefer Willow - it feels like a complete name and it very close to Willa.

MamaLazarou · 01/11/2011 14:04

I really like it.
