Sweet shop names?

DP has responsibility for picking a middle name for our 8 day old daughter Tamsin. He likes the sort of very literal names that usually people think better suit Disney characters and he likes names that he thinks suit the child's character. He is not in the least bit phased by name snobbery.

He gave our older daughter Saffron the middle name Pixie and you have to admit it suits her, she is a total Scamp, always happy and never still.

Little Tamsin is especially pink and white and delightfully sweet natured. So Daddy is looking at her thinking of sweeties, sugar and any and everything you can decorate with pink icing.

Tamsin Candy? Tamsin Sherbert? Tamsin Sugar? I see a field trip to the sweet shop before long, for name inspiration!

I thought you lovely ladies (and lovely lads) would perhaps enjoy joining in? What sweeties might pass for a name do you think? Go wild, this could be quite a fun thread!

Candida Florence?

Sorry - all I can think of is Coconut Cream or Fairy Cake (please DON'T!)

But it's a child not a piece of confectionary. And hell no. not Candida. For many many reasons.

She's 8 days old. She might be different when she gets older. Please pick a name that will suit her as an adult, she will be an adult a lot longer than she will be a baby!

Add Angelica to that list, (that's those green diamonds on birthday cakes of yesteryear).

If I'd said she reminded Daddy of a little flower and he wanted a floral name chances are no one here would be worried, it's no worse. Yeah it's a bit daft, let him be daft, there's a lot worse things one can end up called than the likes of Candy, Honey, Cherry or Angelica. Perhaps I should suggest Flying Saucer too (loved that!)

What about spices that way it isn't too obviously sweet? Nutmeg or cinnamon? Or fruit like Clementine or Quince? Or even something like Mustardseed (Midsummer Night's Dream fairy)?

How about Mallow (as in marshmallow)? They are definitely pink and white and very sweet!
