Title says it all really - they are the names on the shortlist if DC5 is another boy (already have 4DSs - Darwin Silas, Gabriel Wolf (Wolfie), Heath Cassian and Shay Orlando). We are considering River as a middle name but think we might go with something more normal as he might not appreciate being saddled with a name he hates and without the option to be known by something else! Any other suggestions would also be great.

As for girls we have absolutely no idea! Middle name will definitely be Hero (have been wanting to use it for years) but so far no ideas for first names. If you could suggest any that might fit with DS's names that would be great!

I love Jesse. Would have used it for my DS is DP hadn't ruled it out. :(

Forgot there is also Hendrix but as hard as I have tried DH will not agree on that one. Probably for the best though as it is highly likely that it only sounds good in my messed up pregnancy brain..

Rudy - very gangsta, inadvisable for city dwellers
Micah - lovely
Floyd -ok
Jeremiah - wonderful!!
Jesse - problematic in many places, as it can be an insult
Rex - ok

Rudy - like it, although increasingly common in my area. i prefer Rudi for a girl, but I do like Rudy.

Micah - lovely. Underused in this country (very popular in the States, though).

Floyd and Rex - dreadful. Rex = dog. Floyd has a horrible 1970s-ish feel.

Not at all keen on Jesse, I'm afraid.

There are much nicer biblical names than Jeremiah

Clawdy · 27/10/2011 10:49

Jesse is lovely. Jeremiah will become Jez!!Smile

scarlettlips · 27/10/2011 12:18

Firstly...you have bloody brilliant boys names...Darwin Silas, Gabriel Wolf (Wolfie), Heath Cassian and Shay Orlando outstanding. I wanted Gabriel and Orlando but DH said no. I wish i was brave Grin

I think Jesse and Rex go with your boys.

Hero....LOVE this name. Bit stumped to be honest..will have a think and come back to you.

comedaygoday · 27/10/2011 13:15

The only one of your choices I don't like is Floyd. My favourites are Jesse and Jeremiah and I would use Jem as a nn for Jeremiah.

RickGhastley · 27/10/2011 13:18

Love Micah and Jeremiah!

Don't really like the others I'm afraid.

expectingnumber2 · 27/10/2011 15:01

I am loving the names of your boys, especially Shay Orlando! I also love all of the names on your shortlist, my vote goes for Rudy though.

As for girls, could you use Hero as a first name? I'm so unimaginative I couldn't suggest any names to match those!

Good luck!

Confuseddd · 27/10/2011 15:21

Girls names: Lydia, Araminta, Serena

pictish · 27/10/2011 15:24

I have a Rudi but he's a boy.

I did a bit of research before naming him and Rudi is the common spelling for a boy, with Rudy being used for a girl.

mathanxiety · 27/10/2011 15:24

I really only like Micah and Jeremiah. The rest are not my cup of tea at all.

Suggest Jethro and Josiah..

For girls:
Aphra
Keziah
Zinaida
Zoe
Willow
Linnea
Laurel
Paloma
Isla
Aven
Pearl
Romy
Zephyrine
Leilani

River is lovely (River Phoenix RIP!) My DS2 is Jesse - caused a bit of confusion when he was named - got cards from cousins thinking he was a girl - though he is now a strapping boy and it suits him. What about Felix?

pictish · 27/10/2011 15:29

Flynn
Finan
Willis
Aspen
Luca
Lewey
are all names I would now consider for a boy

pictish · 27/10/2011 15:32

I like Rudy (obviously).
The only two in your list I don't like are Jeremiah (too biblical) and Jesse (too yankee).

InNeedOfaNameChange · 27/10/2011 17:28

I would go for Floyd - t'is very cool!

mathanxiety · 27/10/2011 17:35

Stella for a girl?

upatdawn · 27/10/2011 21:12

I second the idea of Hero as a first name if you have a dd, it is lovely. As for boys you can't beat Rudy from that list!

kelliegh76 · 27/10/2011 21:29

love the names hero for a girl and jesse for a boy .... as for the name rex, thats my surname lol

collegedropout · 28/10/2011 16:52

Oooh I like Floyd..and Micah and Rudy and Jeremiah - don't know how you will pick!
