DC5 - cannot chose a name!

Hello, I'm new to mumsnet and thought I would ask for a bit of inspiration coming up with a name for DC5! DH and I already have 4 children (triplets Eric, Jeremiah (know as Jem) and Lara and a little boy Patrick) and are really struggling to come up with another name to go with our awkward surname - Alexander. Nothing seems to sound right with it!

So far we have come up with -

Rex
Seth
Vincent
Ronan
Leopold

Mimi
Violet
Niamh
Hebe

What do you think of our current list? Suggestions very welcome - we need all the help we can get!

Love Seth and Violet.

Seth or Violet :)

Rex - too much "x" sound with your surname
Seth - like
Vincent - too surnamey
Ronan - OK
Leopold - OK but a bit of a mouthful with long surname

Mimi - OK as a nickname
Violet - like
Niamh - OK
Hebe - not keen

I think Vincent goes well with your surname. I also had a cat called Hebe and at the time would have named a dd that - it's a beautiful and unusual name (but let's not resurrect the would you name a dc after a cat thread?)

ImpYCelyn · 18/10/2011 16:41

I think Vincent would be fab with your surname. Violet or Hebe for a girl.

evamummy · 18/10/2011 16:53

Ooh, for a fifth child you have to use Quentin/Quinn for a boy - it is derived from the Latin for fifth and is a lovely underused name imo.
For a girl, Violet is lovely or how about Florence or Katherine/Katie?

Psammead · 18/10/2011 16:54

Love Ronan.

Not so keen on the girls' names.

Lucy
Claire
Belle
Ruby
Charlotte
Blythe
Kate
?

I like Vincent, Ronan and Quentin very much and think they sound good with Alexander.

For girls I like Niamh, Violet or how about Sara, Flora or Nina?

Doesn't matter. You'll go through all your other DC's names when shouting at him/ her anyway. 'John Boy (tut), Mary Ellen (tut), Jim Bob (tut), Carol Anne (tut) I mean X, come here now!' Grin
I love Seth & Niamh.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/10/2011 21:19

Only like Vincent from your boys' list. Really dislike Seth, sorry.

Love Mimi as a nn for Miranda or Marianne.
Love Violet and Niamh too.

comedaygoday · 18/10/2011 22:27

Like Vincent and Seth best from your boy's name choices. I would probably choose Seth.as I.know a couple of pre-school Vinnies and I think Vincent and Vinnie are getting popular. Of the girl's choices, I most like Hebe. Really dislike Mimi

Vincent and Hebe are fantastic with your surname and your other names :)
