Middle name for Anya

Think we've narrowed a long list down to Anya now, fits the bill of not being too common/ too weird/ hard to say etc, plus OH is agreeable which is a rare occurrence. Now I'm after some general opinions on it and middle name ideas.

Choose whatever middle name YOU like best, or that has some meaning to YOU. Middle names are rarely used.

Anya Violet is lovely :)

I also love Ava, Eva and Sophia as first names... the sticking point is their popularity.

What are you opinions on these names? Would it be better to use Anya on the basis of it being less common? I think I've spent too long looking for names and am going round in circles now!

Yes, go for Anya, the others are nice but really popular now.

I feel that Anya needs a longer mn in order to balance/flow Anya Eve is too blunt, where as Anya Violet flows nicely.

Do you have any family members you'd like to honour? Or attributes you value (as in name meanings)? Will she be born in the winter? You could go for a Christmassy name. Anya Gabrielle, Anya Noella...

Anya Sophia is lovely too actually! She will be born between Christmas and new year which is what gave me the idea of Eve being festive and all that.

Also, would you assume an Anya was foreign? A friend I mentioned the name to said she'd assume an Anya was Eastern European. I have met two Anyas (I work with children) and both were British so I didn't have this association, though I know it's widely used as Anja/Ania in other countries.

I have two friends named Anja, who are both German, but I don't see it as being particularly country-specific. It is a little exotic sounding, but not any more than say, Gabrielle or Lucia or Ingrid. I think it works very well.

I like it with all those middle names! I honestly cant decide which I like best!
I work with a girl called Anya, Im not sure what her middle name is though or I would suggest it!
In terms of the name sounding foreign, she is of Armenian descent and has a surname what sounds very much like kardashian (which is also Armenian)
But I dont think it sounds too foreign, very pretty! good choice!

I have an Anya Sophia. Yes, some people assume it is a foreign name, but it works well in many languages with various spellings. We went with the Anya spelling to make it easiest for pronunciation. She's 2.5 years now, and we haven't regretted our decision for a second. We went with Sophia as a middle name as we loved it too but found it to be too popular, and thought if she didn't want to go by Anya as an adult then Sophia is a nice option. I must say I do like Anya Winter. We also considered Anya Rose.

Anya Rose sounds nice and if you want something slightly more christmassy how about
