Pronounced like Am-iss.
(not like the word amiss which I sau with a soft an quick a so like uh-miss)

Apparently it is latin/medieval french/medieval english (which guess means if it is one it is the other) and means friend/beloved and is related to Ann (some say Amy)

What do you think?

apparantky can also be A-miss. Don't know which one is the oldest pronounciation though.

So saying that which one as well:
Am-iss
or
A-miss

  1. Looks like a type, shouldn't it be Amouse?
  1. If something is amiss, it is defective/unfortunate/out of order - so definitely don't pronouce it A-miss.

Sorry - really not keen.

Sorry - don't like the sound of it (but think it looks okay written down)

Anything you have to explain spelling/how to say, I'd give a miss.
