It's ridiculous to name a future dd Lilac if you already have one named Violet, isn't it?

Yes. You'd get mixed up and end up calling one of them "Lillet".

Purple is my fave colour so I want to say yes but deep down I think no!!

Could stick with colour theme though and go for Hazel, Scarlett, etc...
