I like it, young, cool, smart, slightly posh.

Collision · 27/09/2011 22:39

Love it! Bit quirky and different and he will be probably be the only one around.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 27/09/2011 22:40

I met a 1 year old one this week and love the name, really cute boy with a shock of white blond hair.

LetThereBeRock · 27/09/2011 22:44

Love it.

Tortington · 27/09/2011 22:47

its an elevator

tigerdriverII · 27/09/2011 22:50

Yep. sounds like a lift. But B Ferry has a son called Otis (after Mr Redding of course) and that's quite cool. But to me, it's a lift.

Meteorite · 28/09/2011 08:24

OK, perhaps a little pretentious though.

hulabula · 28/09/2011 08:55

Otis is very cool. Great choice.

Don't see what is pretentious.... should we all choose Jack and Charlie type names so as not to be viewed as pretentious Hmm? Let's encourage more name diversity - makes life much more fun & interesting!

Meteorite · 28/09/2011 08:59

Don't you think any names carry any associations though hula? It's a bit unrealistic to think all names give exactly the same impressions.

pissedrightoff · 28/09/2011 09:01

Otis! I LOVE OTIS!

Hullygully · 28/09/2011 09:03

Great

First time I have ever said that..

Mondayschild78 · 28/09/2011 09:08

I like it, sounds interesting and a bit different

hulabula · 28/09/2011 10:21

"Don't you think any names carry any associations though hula? It's a bit unrealistic to think all names give exactly the same impressions."

Of course, I associate names with the people bearing the name. We all do and we therefore all have different associations, depending on who we've met with a certain name. If I meet a lovely Otis I will associate the name with this lovely person, on the other hand, if I meet an annoying Otis, I will associate it with him.

That's what names are for, for identifying people and associating their name with their person.

mayanna123 · 28/09/2011 10:29

I like Otis - and don't know any little (or big) ones. Great choice imo!

Tuschinski · 28/09/2011 12:34

Cool

I know a couple of boys called Otis (under 5).
It was also the middle name of a girl I was at university with about a million years ago.
It's nice.

ellesabe · 28/09/2011 21:30

airborne · 28/09/2011 21:58

birdofthenorth · 28/09/2011 22:26
