Do you like it?

And can you think of anything it could be short for?

Calliope

I quite like it, yes.

DharmaBumpkin · 27/09/2011 14:08

I do like it :) It could be short for Callista, Calindra or, ermmmm...

ArmageddonOuttahere · 27/09/2011 14:09

Could be Calleigh as a full name or is that a bit.. y'know...

PandaNot · 27/09/2011 14:20

I love Callie, it didn't 'go' with our surname though so we didn't use it.

DharmaBumpkin · 27/09/2011 14:23

I have just thought that it could be a nn for Caroline if you wanted a less unusual first name!

Callie on its own is lovely too, though

BlueChampagne · 27/09/2011 14:33

California
Calpurnia

iskra · 27/09/2011 15:57

My aunt's dog is called Callie...

GwendolineMaryLacey · 27/09/2011 15:58

NN for Caroline. lovely.

Yes, it's a bit, y'know Armagaddon :o

Meteorite · 27/09/2011 16:40

Nice as nickname for Calantha, Calista, Calandra. Not keen on Caroline, it's a bit old-hat sloaney.

lickthemarmiteknife · 27/09/2011 16:45

love Calista (with emphasis on 1st syllable - to rhyme with Allister)

but not Ca-LIS-ta (as in flockhart)

Callie is nice shortening

pyjamasinbananas · 27/09/2011 16:46

Love it!!! Wanted it for DD but too similar to my RL name

Meteorite · 27/09/2011 17:12

Camellia?

BoysInTheHood · 27/09/2011 17:19

Lovely name, it's the one I wanted had I had a girl.

mayanna123 · 27/09/2011 17:26

Calista or Calliope. I like it.

dearheart · 27/09/2011 17:30

Love it as a nn for Caroline - which is a v beautiful name imo. I also like Calista, but that is quite a name so she'd better have the personality to carry it off.

fedupandtired · 27/09/2011 17:47

I've got a cousin called Callie. Not a nickname or anything, just Callie.

sparkle12mar08 · 27/09/2011 18:18

It's lovely but in speech people will always assume it's Kellie, which is rather less lovely, shall we say.

mathanxiety · 27/09/2011 18:33

I think it would get mixed up with Kelly.

I think it's a bit insipid on its own, but nice as a nn for Calista.

mathanxiety · 27/09/2011 18:33

x-post

redglow · 27/09/2011 20:42

lovely pretty name

HengshanRoad · 28/09/2011 06:24

Chavvy.

mayanna123 · 28/09/2011 10:24

I like it, short for Calliope.

CarterGirl · 29/09/2011 16:17

I've literally just been mulling over this name myself!

I really like it, but mathanxiety makes a good point about people mistaking it for Kelly in speech.

Hmmm.

Am finding girls names really tricky!
