I love this name, but am struggling to think of a middle name (other 2 have them) that doesn't sound like it could be made into a joke... such as my DH's suggestion of Skye...

How is it pronounced Eesla (Spanish pronunciation) or Isle-a?

iwantbrie · 27/09/2011 13:39

Isle-a. Didn't even know about the spanish pronunciation, that's pretty too...

I think it would go nicely with a second name of one syllable (sp?) land something traditional like:

Isla Rose
Isla Jane
Isla May

Really like Isla Rose :)

Isla is such a pretty name.

iwantbrie · 27/09/2011 13:48

Ooh, I like Rose, one syllable would be better as my surname is a 2 syllable one.

I know a couple of Islas - one spelt Islay (like the island, and pronounced the same). Isla Grace would be my pick.

Eilidh, Ishbel and Iona are similar names which might be helpful?

Isla Mae is the name we have if we ever have a girl so I love it! Very pretty.

Isla Juliet
Isla Catherine
Isla Miriam
Isla Rebecca
Isla Willow
Isla Xanthe
Isla Naomi

My mamma's name is Aila which is pronounced Isla. Her surname has 4 syllables which is rather a lot. I agree, a 1 syllable middle name would sound lovely.

Isla June
