I named my first guinea pig this in the 80s, inspired by Cleos Laine and Rocos. What do we think? Is it ripe for revival? I think it's rather chic and sultry sounding and an alternative to the very popular Chloe. Derived from Greek kleos (glory, fame). Would it have to be short for Cleopatra?

Should add it is Cleo as a stand alone name, only problem being that people call her Chloe a lot which is bloody annoying! Diced with kleo, Clio and cleopatra but like Cleo best.

Also great what a positive reaction the name has had!

There us an Irish name Cliona which I have always loved BUT worried about the shortening to the car version!

One lone dissenting voice here then. It is ghastly. It's the name of a cat.
