DD really likes Alexia if the baby is a girl, I like Eliza.

I would be grateful for your opinions.

Alexia. I'm not really keen on Elizabeth or any of its derivatives, which Eliza is. Much prefer Alex, Lexie as nn's to Liz, Lizzie etc.

I prefer Eliza

caramelwaffle · 23/09/2011 13:11

Eliza

Eliza is my favourite - Alexia sounds ever so slightly too posh (I know, ridiculous but nonetheless initial response). Also think Alexia is bound to be nn straight away, whereas Eliza would probably avoid shortening, if that's what you'd prefer.

Alexia. Brilliant name, and you don't hear it often.

mistressploppy · 23/09/2011 13:34

I like Eliza. Alexia seems a bit...complicated.

What about Alicia?

randomimposter · 23/09/2011 17:22

Eliza for sure.
Alexa is ok, but Alexia sounds a bit much to my ear.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/09/2011 17:25

Like Eliza a lot. Alexia is too much, Alexa is much better. That i seems to be for no reason other than to make it more difficult to say!

themightyskim · 23/09/2011 17:29

I like Eliza to, but second the vote for Alexa, both nice names (that want helpful was it?)

minipie · 23/09/2011 17:33

In order of preference:

Alexa
Eliza
Elise
Alexia

I'm not keen on Alexia as a name as it's the name of a reading disability Alexia

Alexa is pretty though, as is Alexis
