I know a 3 year old called Clarissa.

Always thought it was a lovely name, and as far as I know no one ever shortens it with her.

I like it plus lots of options for nn.

poormesomemore · 20/09/2011 22:28

Lovely

Love it.

can't get silence of the lambs out of my head - sorry!

I knew a Rissa as a child. There is also a series of kids books with q cool heroine called Rissa.

People will think it's posh. Not saying that's a bad thing- just people will.

dearheart · 22/09/2011 20:39

I really really like it.

Ondine · 22/09/2011 20:59

I think Larissa sounds nicer, more elegant. But Clarissa also nice.

NadiaWadia · 22/09/2011 21:09

The character is Silence of the Lambs was Clarice, not Clarissa.

1gglePiggle · 22/09/2011 21:11

Reminds me of the kids show "Clarissa explains it all"!

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 22/09/2011 21:15

I have to say I think of Two Fat Ladies (on the right) when I hear Clarissa, but she was a good old bird.

SlinkingOutsideInSocks · 22/09/2011 21:21

'IS', even...! Blush She's still alive.

SailorVie · 22/09/2011 22:14

Clarissa was one of the girls in Malory Towers, wasn't she? I always loved the name.

Clareabella16 · 17/11/2011 21:51

I used to make my parents call me Clarissa when I was younger lol. I like Clara :) x Clare x

I absolutely love the name. Think it will get divided opinions though, a love it or hate it type of name.
