Well, okay, it's not exactly a short list but we have come up with our own top 10 for each gender. We already have three DC (Tamsin, Lennox and Tristan) and our surname is four syllables beginning with M. So thougths on these please!

Boys
Fabian
Eric
Stanley
Ronan
Arlo
Cassius
Fergus
Aidan
Roman
Phoenix (out there but we like it!)

Girls
Faye
Eliza
Ruby
Honor
Saskia
Louisa
India
Asha
Alicia
Quinn

What do you think? We don't exactly love any of these names but we feel that it's a good starting ground. Other suggestions would also be great :)

Aidan-love
Roman- okay
Phoenix (out there but we like it!)- not too bad (I know a little Phoenix) but maybe too close to Lennox?

Fabian sounds a bit girly. Faye is nice. I wouldnt go for Elizabeth derivatives or people may assume she is an Elizabeth. Faye is pretty as is Alicia.

Not sure about the other boy names, sorry. To be honest I would go for something more solid and simple for a son. Take a look at the list of Kings' names.

Grandparents names?

Aidan is the best, most beautiful boys' name ever.

Yes, I am biased. But it really is. Only with that spelling though, don't be swayed by the -en crowd. So wrong.

Fergus, Roman also both nice. Not sure about the girls' names, Eliza is lovely though. It is a shame that your starting point is a list of names you don't love, hopefully one will jump out at you, or when he/she is born they will instantly look like a little Aidan/Eliza!

Love your existing DCs names!

Roman, Aidan and Arlo are brilliant boys names. I know a fabulous little Arlo.

Maybe you could also consider Angus, Jasper or Auden?

Love, love, love Honor and Eliza.

I'm actually getting excited about your beautifully named DC-to-be!!

You can't call a girl Quinn, she'll get called Quim namely Fanny/Minge

Loads of great names there. I think some of them go better with your other DC's names than others. My favourites are

Fabian
Roman
Stanley
Cassius

Asha
Honor

Not keen on Ruby as it is v popular at the mo and does not go so well with your other DC names imo. Also not keen on Quinn for the reasons already mentioned.

JollySargeant, nymbler.com just suggested I call my next DC "junior", or "bubba"!!!!! I'm not sure it's entirely trustworthy Grin.

Roman is lovely, like Aidan too. Honor is a beautiful name. Another vote against Quinn here too - agree with the reasons above!
