Lovely was on my list for dc 2 but he was a he! But I would spell Beatrice

MelinaM · 17/09/2011 21:03

Love Beatrix, a refreshing change from BeatriceSmile

scarlettlips · 17/09/2011 21:03

LOVE love love!! DH not keen [stomp] [stomp]

TheRealMBJ · 17/09/2011 21:03

I like the fact that Beatrix is the more 'original' Latin form.

We would probably choose between Anna or Georgina for middle name. My choice would be Anna.

Or Beatrix Grace?

I far prefer Beatrice. Beatrix too tied up with Potter in my mind.

SaffronCake · 18/09/2011 10:50

Beatrix Georgina for me, but only the X ending at a push because I like the softer CE sound more.

Kaekae · 18/09/2011 10:54

Yes I like it. I know one known as Trixie but not really sure if I like this NN or not.

kellestar · 18/09/2011 11:04

DD is a Beatrice Annabelle, nn Bea

I liked both Beatriz and Beatrix as well, DH and I had a debate about it that lasted weeks. We just didn't like Trixie as a nn and my family being what they are would call her that to annoy me.

We love her name and Bea suits her so.

lchodge · 18/09/2011 13:01

I'm not a fan of girls names beginning with B, sounds harsh to me. Also don't like the X for the same reason.

picnicbasketcase · 18/09/2011 13:04

Love Beatrice, not fond of Beatrix, but you've already decided on that.

I prefer Anna to Georgina, but it depends what your surname is. Because if the initials spelled out BAG or BAP etc it might be a bit unfortunate.

tiddleypompom · 18/09/2011 13:05

I think it's lovely. Like the nn too - good for a little girl and a grown up woman. Middle name I prefer Grace but 'ain't going to encourage it as it is our choice too :o

TheRealMBJ · 21/09/2011 12:14

Right so DD's surname will start with a 'W' (she'll get her Dad's surname, like DS did- I've kept my own)

Would Beatrix Anna be acceptable? BAW isn't bad, is it?

I think that sounds lovely TheRealMBJ

Do you like it??

TheRealMBJ · 21/09/2011 14:12

God, I just realised how pathetic that sounded Blush.

I do like it Grin. I think I have decided, now just to convince DH.

Love Beatrix. It was on our list, but we went for Beatrice in the end, nn Betty.

Kirstle · 22/09/2011 09:25

Beatrix is my absolute favourite name, ever!!

Beatrix Anna is just divine... I couldn't because my surname begins with G - for the same reason that I cant use Alice (one of my other favourite names)

The middle name I love for my fictitional DD is Beatrix Milly G_ (I love the 3-2-1 syllable formation and Milly honours my gran)

Good luck!!

Meteorite · 22/09/2011 09:29

I prefer Beatrice. The "trix" is a bit, er, dominatrix.
