I like both a lot. I like Elijah is more uncommon. Noah, in my view, is lovely but become a bit overused. Bit like Oscar. But I do love the name.

Eli is a gorgeous nn!

They are both lovely names. Elijah is less widespread, DS1, aged.3, is called Elijah and we have never met another one. He likes his name.

deemented · 15/09/2011 07:09

I much prefer Elijah. Though i like Elias too.

heavenstobetsy · 15/09/2011 07:32

These were our two 'short list' names and we went for Elijah thinking we would call him Eli for a nn - however he is now 20 months and is never Eli, it just doesn't suit him. I do sometimes have a bit of name envy for Elias which is less fussy in it's unsharpened form

heavenstobetsy · 15/09/2011 07:33

Or unshortened form even!

pearlgirl · 15/09/2011 07:45

I think they are both lovely names. Ds4 is Elijah, which is often shortened to Eli - don't know any others. Really liked Noah as well but already knew 2. Not that I am too bothered by children having the same name - when we moved here ds2 became one of four in his class.

mopsyflopsy · 15/09/2011 09:48

Elijah definately. Lovely name that isn't as widely used already as Noah. Also, Noah can be mistaken for the female Noa.

weneedabiggerboat · 15/09/2011 09:52

I really like Noah, Elijah is nice as well but funny enough I heard 3 Elijahs at a park recently -all under 2.

Fatshionista · 15/09/2011 09:53

I love Noah. I am biased because I used to love Elijah but I know too many now.

Moominsarescary · 15/09/2011 10:19

Thanks everyone

Another vote for Elijah. Lovely name and love nickname Eli.

LetThereBeRock · 15/09/2011 11:58

They're both equally lovely.That isn't very helpful I know.

MissPricklePants · 15/09/2011 12:13

both!have family members that are noah and elijah.

tummytickler · 15/09/2011 14:44

I have an 8 (nearly 9) year old Elijah - love it! (Pearlgirl do you also have a Pearl? I have a Pearl and Elijah!)
Noah is a bit boring, and I know loads and loads. Elijah seems (to me) more classic, as I have known a few of all ages, but Noahs seem to be all little kids.

pearlgirl · 15/09/2011 16:46

tummytickler - no I don't also have a Pearl - we have 4 boys so never used any of our girls names.

Moominsarescary · 15/09/2011 21:57

Pearlgirl me too, this is our fourth boy
