I like it.

PublicHair · 11/09/2011 10:55

i think andre\stefan\paolo\luca are all a bit Waggish\gangsta rappa type names unless they are family names,if you don't like 'steven\stephen' then don't call him a 'foreign' version of it.

savoycabbage · 11/09/2011 10:57

Don't it make you feel good

is my immediate response.

Bue · 11/09/2011 11:54

LOVE this name! Appeals to my germanic side :)

Hopintobed · 11/09/2011 12:03

Steven/ stephen is a very different sound to stefan though so whilst it may be similar name in terms of meaning it's not the same feel.

Kayano · 11/09/2011 12:03

I love Stefan. I met or once at uni, he was a good looking fella! So is Stefan from te vampire diaries lol

PublicHair · 11/09/2011 12:19

i don't really hold with using a name from another country\culture. it strikes me as v aspirational, and not in a good way.
think 'kids from sink estates called Cheyanne' Grin

LetThereBeRock · 11/09/2011 12:22

It's lovely.Much nicer than Stephen/Steven.

BikeRunSki · 11/09/2011 12:25

I like it. I know it is the French version of Stephen, but it is much nicer. I went to school with one (was a French school) and used to work with one (he was from Leeds).

Kyrie · 11/09/2011 13:06

I love it, I almost called DS1 this and wish i had.

I think it's got a cool, together Scandinavian vibe, also sounds quite modern but is a classic so not faddish and won't date. Travels well too, it's used in loads of European countries but doesn't sound foreign as it's well known in the UK and US.

larakitten · 11/09/2011 13:10

Oh no.....sorry, I don't like it. reminds me too much of Stefan Dennis - "Paul" in Neighbours??????

MelinaM · 11/09/2011 14:05

No, I absolutely hate the name Stephen/Steven to begin with and this is just a foreign variant of it!

lucyspangle · 11/09/2011 14:20

Are you East European?

MotherOfHobbit · 11/09/2011 14:23

I like Stefan.

Peachy · 11/09/2011 14:26

Nice name. Like it a lot. I also like Stephen a lot mind. I don't cre if people use a name from any culture as long as they like it.

mayanna123 · 11/09/2011 15:15

It is the German (& possibly Polish,French) version of Stephen. Why on earth would you use a foreign versioin of a classic English name? Are you German, French or Eastern European?

Hedwig3 · 12/09/2011 10:50

I know a lovely boy called Stefan.

He does get called Stephanie by peers occasionally but not really in a teasing way, it just happens, they all lenthen each others names it he sometimes gets Stephanie.

I like it.

Imnotdarrellrivers · 12/09/2011 10:58
