Pronounced Loo-Ella.

I met a 2 year-old called this the other day and have fallen in love. What do you all think?

Beautiful actually. Never heard it before.

MelinaM · 11/09/2011 01:25

Luella Bartley springs to mind for me, she makes fab handbags Grin Nice name too!

mayanna123 · 11/09/2011 15:21

Lovely, I've never met anyone with that name! Great choice imo!

lizzieloubee1 · 11/09/2011 15:32

I don't like it. Not sure why, but it does't sit well with me.

LetThereBeRock · 11/09/2011 15:40

It's horrid, and very redneck.Think King of The Hill.

Cereal · 11/09/2011 15:59

It's OK, although I prefer Louisa.

effingwotnots · 11/09/2011 16:03

Very pretty. I like girls' names ending in -a. Also like Louisa, but Luella is less widely used already, which is nice.

poppydaisy · 11/09/2011 16:24

What does 'redneck' mean Confused?

Oh, thanks Leonie. See, I think Luella is lovely and elegant, but Lou-Ella is awful.

Nikki82 · 11/09/2011 19:18

I know a baby Luella. Fab name.

swingingcat · 11/09/2011 19:33

Loella was very popular in the 1880s, often see it on census returns!

pinkgirlythoughts · 11/09/2011 19:37

I think Llewella is a nicer spelling, as Loella does look a little redneck-y to me.

diddl · 12/09/2011 15:32

Much prefer Ella.

See, I think Luella is lovely and different, whereas Ella is so widely used already and will probably date more.

PippiLongBottom · 12/09/2011 21:11

It just brings to mind Cruella.

HelenDamnation · 12/09/2011 21:14

There is a lovely children's book called Pappa Pellerin's Daughter - the heroine is a very strong girl called Loella.
