Eden?

What do you think? DH won't discuss names yet so want to get some opinions before the big discussion (after 20 week scan)

The MIddle name would be Caitlin after my mum Kathleen (prefer the Irish spelling£

So Eden Caitlin x (one syllable surname)

Thoughts?

I think it's lovely - unusual and very pretty!

lizzieloubee1 · 09/09/2011 13:02

I like it too. Nice ad easy to learn to spell, she won't be known forever as Eden X, but not so unusual that people will judge.

limetrees · 09/09/2011 13:04

I much prefer Caitlin to Eden.

mistressploppy · 09/09/2011 13:07

Very nice - everyone will be able to spell it, pronounce it, remember it. Has a very pretty referent too.

Eden Caitlin Jones/Smith/Carr. Lovely Smile

SpringHeeledJack · 09/09/2011 13:09

I'd stick another middle name between Eden and Caitlin, otherwise you've got two nnnn sounds together

like Eden Mary Caitlin Jones

Kayano · 09/09/2011 13:16

I can't do 2 middle names Sad
Just a random dislike of mine...

Other family mn options include Susanna, Alice, Kathleen

What letter does your last name end in?

these things matter

Grin
Elderberries · 09/09/2011 13:17

I'm not a huge fan of either name but it's a very personal thing.

MissHonkover · 09/09/2011 13:21

I really like the name Eden, but I've seen it cropping up a bit on here recently, if popularity matters to you. Also, isn't it the name of a TV channel?

Much prefer it to Caitlin and the other family names you've listed.

Kayano · 09/09/2011 13:27

Last name starts with H
One syllable .... Think fog, French, cream

It's a place name.

I do like Edith/Edie though.

GiantUnderCrackers · 09/09/2011 15:35

I think Eden is a lovely name.

BTW A Jewish friend of mine just named her girl Eden - in Hebrew it is apparently pronounced 'Ed-en' rather than 'Ee-den'.

I like either pronounciation.

PedigreeChump · 09/09/2011 16:27

I love the name Eden, always have since seeing it in a novel (A Dark Adapted Eye by Barbara Vine - recommended!)

Anyway, unfortunately DH doesn't like it, it has become quite popular over the last wee while and some people might turn their noses up a little at it. I love it. Like Caitlin as well although Kathleen is actually very nice too.

Desperately trying to work out one syllable surname, think fog, French, cream. It's like a cryptic crossword!

Kayano · 09/09/2011 17:27

I thought they were awesomely easy clues lol

GeetTallBird · 09/09/2011 18:18

Eden is lovely!
Is the surname "mist"??

iskra · 09/09/2011 18:21

Is there mist cream?

MrsOzz · 09/09/2011 18:23

Well it begins with 'H' so it's deffo not mist!

I thought Horn. Cream horn, French horn, fog horn...

MrsOzz · 09/09/2011 18:24

Oh and I love the name Eden. It's fresh and feminine without being frilly.

Kayano · 09/09/2011 18:38

Mr ozz I'm going to have to name change now. Well and truly outed!

OP posts:
MrsOzz · 09/09/2011 19:08

Well I didn't want to spell it out, but they were getting so confused about 'cream mist' I thought I should step in!

iskra · 09/09/2011 19:25

Haha! Terrible at word games I'm afraid.

I like Eden Grin

PamBeesly · 09/09/2011 19:38
