I love the name Quinn, DP says its not girly enough...but I don't want a frothy girly name tbh!

Hmm, it's a boy's name to me, and I don't like it as a boy's name if I'm honest! Hmm

You have to choose a name you both like - you wouldn't want to be strong-armed into a name you weren't keen on just because he likes it. It works both ways.

There's loads of non-frilly girls' names - try any that don't end with an 'a' or 'el/elle'. Names that end with consonants tend to be non-frilly.

Too much like quim (regional variation on a fanjo theme).

Hester?

Agree with both the above comments!

Names ending in o tend not to be frothy - Juno, Willow...

Or go down the Harper route - not necessarily Harper but that kind of surnamey vibe...?

Boys' name imo - my nephew is a Quinn (short for Quentin). I don't think it sounds feminine at all.

mandoo · 08/09/2011 12:50

It's a boys name

meditrina · 08/09/2011 12:53

It's a boy's name. Not one I'd go for either, because of the "quim" potential.

The Mighty Quinn? (see Bob Dylan)

not for a girl, sorry.

mayanna123 · 08/09/2011 12:59

Quinn, like Finn, is a boys' name to me. The -inn sound is very masculine.

MrsCarriePooter · 08/09/2011 13:43

Quinn is a (female) character in Glee so I see it as a name for a girl. But even then her real name is Lucy.

Leo4 · 08/09/2011 19:35

It is also a female character in One tree hill..thats where I got it from! But I understand what your saying...Back to the drawing board then!
