Irish pronunciation...please help!

Came across a girls name today Aislinn.

However have found some say 'ash-lyn' and some say it 'aze-lyn' (like maze)

what is the proper irish way to say this name? I am not irish so I have no clue

I thought it was Ash-leen, but I'm not Irish.

Definitely Ash though, not Aze.

No, it's "Ashleen." (emphasis on first syllable) In Gaelic it has a fada (accent) over the "i" which makes an "ee" sound.
Aisling is pronounced "Ashling"

The double N sound ('inn') is pronounced 'ing' in Irish. So Ash-ling for both Aislinn and Aisling, and of course Ashling. There's no fada afaik.

(altogether, 'liom, leat, leis, lei, linn, libh, leo' anyone?)

definitely no fadas ime, and i seem to have met hundreds of aislings... pronounced ash ling. i grew up in munster and live in dublin - it is of course possible that up north they pronounce it differently, don't know any northern aislings...

Aislinn is pronounced ASH LIN. It's my sisters name. Not the same as Aisling which is ASH LING. Aislinn is much less common than Aisling and in my opinion much nicer!

If you spell it Aislínn then it is pronounced Ash-lynn not Ash-ling as it doesn't have a 'g' in it. I had a teacher who pronounced my name Ash-ling instead of Ash-lyn for the entire year and it got really annoying, the funny thing is the same teacher got an Aisling the next year and I bet she pronounced her name wrong too. 😂
