Carenza?

What do you think of Carenza as a sibling name for Elizabeth, nn Beth? I'm not sure of if or how we'd shorten it.

I'm Welsh so can claim some connection for the name? Middle names will be Alison Joan or Alison Catherine.

If not Carenza then I'm happy to hear suggestions. Surname is short, very common and starts with A.

It is lovely - feminine and not overused. Doesn't it mean loving - so a lovely meaning too .

I have an A surname and I'm a bit about an A sound to end the name.

Nagoo, no I don't think it's a car, not yet anyway! That would be just my luck. It would be bound to be a Renault too, DH hates Renaults with a passion.

I think Carrie is the natural nn.

I looked it up it does mean loving. I like it the more I think about it.

BTW in my head it's a posh car :)

I think there used to be a woman on Time Team called Carenza. I really like it, agree that Carrie would be the nickname. Or possibly Cara.

I think cadenza is horrid but carrie is nice.

I've only ever seen it spelled Karenza with a K. I guess it's an alternative version like Kiera/Ciara, Katharine/Catherine etc?

I like it actually. Don't think I'd shorten it to anything, though Carrie would work if you want to, especially with the C spelling.

I thought it was Kerensa. Probably one of those names that people spell every which way.

I've mostly seen it spelt Kerenza/Kerensa in Cornwall - I think it's a Cornish name isn't it? I think it's nice, good meaning and from an excellent part of the world :)

Sorry I don't like it, it's a bit harsh sounding to my ears & sounds like a made up name (although it's not).

It's as though someone is called Karen, hates her name & has tried to make it sound exotic by adding a 'za' onto the end. It also makes me think of La Senza.

Know a Kerenza known as Zenna or Zennie, that would work. Lovely name!

My baby sister (now 18) was named this (funnily enough my parents like watching Timeteam and named her after the archaelogist Carenza Lewis from there). Orignally they wanted to call her Saskia but I associated that name with the woman in the Eastenders storyline popular at the time. Carenza is a Cornish name, it means love and affection. My parents named my sister Carenza Heather and our surname is a very common one beginning with W.
Her nn is Caz. But i call her rooster / roo on account of her looking like a rooster at birth when I first met her! Lol.

I love this name! I wanted it and was going to use the nn Ren.

I like it but prefer the Kerensa spelling. Dont think I'd use it with a surname starting in A though I'm afraid, I think it makes it awkward to say.

Sounds lovely and I don't think putting it with a surname starting with A would be a problem.
