..and I mean anything (no matter how ridiculous, if there are bad connections, what others think or whether it sounds good with surname) what would it be?

I love the names Constantine and River for boys and Sonnet and Indigo but they are a bit 'out there' and would not work in RL!

So what would yours be? :o

Jolyon. Can you tell I'm a John Galsworthy fan?

Scathac · 06/10/2011 19:28

I always liked the idea of Roebuck and Spider for boys (didn't actually use them!!!) . Also found it hilarious when I saw a prog on tv where a traveler in the Steppes stayed with a group of nomads who had named their young (2-yr old) son the exotic name of .... Melgibson (all one word!!) . Just goes to show ........ (something, don't know quite what!!)

JackReacher · 14/06/2013 22:05

My son is called Constantine .... I don't think it's 'out there' just not that popular. The midwife said she hadn't had another one but thought it was a cracking name and one she will remember.

Octavia and Horatio. DH Put His Foot Down.

TheMagicKeyCanFuckOff · 15/06/2013 17:16

Indigo, Sky, Raven, Ilford, Flynn and Rune for a boy.
Aurelia, Sapphire, Echo, Whisper and Dream for a girl.

As you can see, using them would be a bit odd.

mikkii · 15/06/2013 17:27

DD1 nearly had Delilah for her middle name.

If DD2 had been a boy she would have been Francisco Raphael (Frankie for short)

I could probably produce an extensive list but for starters:

Katya
Lara (I might even call her Larissa)
Ophelia
Benedict

Yuri
Atticus
I do like Konstantin
Orlando

Literary themes run through my thought processes with names.

Meringue33 · 15/06/2013 19:09

I know a baby Indigo! (Indie for short)

I also know a Merlijn (he is Dutch)

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/06/2013 19:19

St. John oh my goodness. Brilliant, added to list

I wanted Toblerone Toby for short.

Mintyy · 15/06/2013 19:27

Sheherazade.

Hashtagwhatever · 15/06/2013 19:32

Hashtagwhatever · 15/06/2013 19:34

Ooh I quite like charmian
Ala-ronnie biggs wife.

Ipp3 · 15/06/2013 19:40

Poetry for a girl. Atticus or harper for a boy. Or cole.

Twotinygirls · 15/06/2013 19:41

I'd love Misty, Bunny or Kitty for a girl. And Lorenzo for a boy.

I just think that if I was a boy I'd like to be called Lorenzo!

Ipp3 · 15/06/2013 19:42

Themagic, I know a boy called sky!

youbethemummylion · 15/06/2013 19:43

I would have like Taylor-Ray for a boy and Melody for a girl

MeerkatMerkin · 15/06/2013 19:50

I already have DS who has my favourite boys' name but if I were to have another two, one of each, they would be Rafael and Ariadne. Sadly DH has vetoed both, otherwise I would (when get upduffed again!). I also like Lenore for a girl.

littlemrssleepy · 15/06/2013 19:54

For a boy Scot or Finn. For a girl Grace. Guess the surname Grin

MrsHelsBels74 · 15/06/2013 19:57

I wanted Benedict for one of our boys but DH vetoed. Don't know if that's 'out there' or not!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/06/2013 19:59

I think St John sounds better out loud.

Trinpy · 15/06/2013 20:32

Just seen someone else on here likes Lettice. Love the name so much but can see a future full of salad jokes Sad

extracrunchy · 15/06/2013 20:35

Indigo Grin
