Not strictly for this forum, but all related! Are there any names for grandparents that I've missed for english grandparents? My mum wants their names set in stone and not clashing with OH's parents names so need a few options! I know, I know...

Grandad
Grandfather
Pops
Grandpops

Grandma
Grandmother
Nana
Nan
Nanny
Gran
Granny

This is a very funny thread!

In our house, both Grans wanted to be 'nanny' so we differentiated by using a version of their name - we have nanny Pippi and nanny Roro.

DH kept calling them nanny seagull and nanny dog, which I didn't think was fair!

I had a school friend who had BigNan and LittleNan! I bet BigNan had a complex!

Mine are Granny and Grandad (chosen by them although pronounced Ganny and Gandad by my son)
Nanna was already in place as she had other grandchildren. I call her Crazy Nanna which my son does now as well, makes me laugh - she is truly bonkers.
Last one is Opa as my husband is South African. He looks like Geppetto from Pinocchio so the film which is my son's favourite is known as "Opa and the little boy".

We had to call our GPs "Grandma and Grandad [Surname]", how formal and boring compared to some of yours!

My MIL will probably be Nanna as she is with her other much older GCs
I asked my own parents and they seem to want to follow the tradition of what we used when we were children (BORING!)

Doesn't it depend what area of the country you're from - I've noticed some regional preferences as I've gone along.
