Thomas? Benjamin? what else might we like?

DS1 is due in 5 days and so far we kinda like Thomas / Benjamin but I feel like I've not really considered many other names.

DH likes Edward but I really don't, George has been canned as there's no real nn. Can't have Samuel, Matthew, Andrew, Richard, Charles, Peter, James, Robert due to close family names...and it needs to be traditional / not a faddy name.

Help!

Tom (Thomas) and Ben (Benjamin) are very popular round here.

How about these classic names:
Dominic
Quentin
Gregory
Patrick

MmeLindor. · 23/08/2011 11:43

Phillip

But I love Thomas

I don't think George needs a definate nn, It works fine by its self
Thomas and Benjamin are popular. But then classic names like those will always to some extent be used.

Frederick/Feddy
Alexander
Timothy
Adam
Gregory
Barnaby

Def George - no need for a nick name.

HeidiHole · 23/08/2011 13:21

A nickname for George could be 'G' pronounced "Gee" or just a nickname based on his personality or looks? "

I don't think it needs one though. My name is Laura and there isn't really a nickname for that so I always get called by my full name Laura. Hasn't hurt me :)

Thanks for all the suggestions...nothing is working as much as Ben though so maybe that's the one. I guess it just seems like an obvious name choice but it can't be that common now that it's slipped to number 22! Due in 3 days so will have to see of he looks like a Ben and then decide. I'm massively going off Tom / Thomas though so fingers crossed he's a Ben / Benjamin!

Nothing wrong with Ben/Benjamin or even Benedict.
Good luck with the birth.
