Alice is a bit too similar to Eliza to have as a first name IMO.

Adelaide is lovely

PorkChopSter · 20/08/2011 20:14

"Alice and Eliza" is a bit of a mouthful to yell out (my test Grin) and they are very similar names... but then the other option has the same initial issue with post etc.

scarlettlips · 20/08/2011 20:18

Eliza Faith...!!

TimeWasting · 20/08/2011 20:19

I think Alice and Adelaide are sort of the same name, from the same root iyswim.

Eliza Faith.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/08/2011 20:20

I'm not a huge fan of Adelaide and it does mean the same initial. Prefer Eliza but absolutely love faith!!

Catsu · 20/08/2011 20:35

Def eliza. Goes lovely next to alice.
Adelaide and alice are way too similar!

PercyFilth · 20/08/2011 20:40

Alice and Eliza are near-anagrams. Which is a good thing or a bad thing! The kids would probably like that.

fluffygal · 20/08/2011 20:49

I prefer Eliza, not a fan of the same initials for all kids. But my daughters are called Lana (long aah sound) and Zanna (pronounced like hannah) and they are similiar but I do not chuffing care, I love both names and could not agree with OH on any other name for DD2!

Janeymax · 20/08/2011 20:53

I prefer Adelaide - would you call her Addie day to day? Our two dd have the same initial and it's fine.

Sirzy · 20/08/2011 20:55

Eliza, dont like Adelaide at all

mumatron · 20/08/2011 20:56

Eliza.

I've got one and I love it.

Papyrus · 20/08/2011 21:27

My DD1 is an Eliza and is a fab name. We chose Elizabeth for the birth certificate so she had plenty of choice and she alternates between Eliza and Elsa - but its a lovely name in its own right.

Adelaide is lovely, but as a previous poster said comes from the same root as Alice - It would be like calling your daughters Elizabeth and Isabella. But you could probably get away with it.

Don't panic yet! DD2 was nameless for five weeks and we'd got to the point where 'The Baby' seemed like a perfectly reasonable name!

pinguwings · 20/08/2011 21:38

Adelaide

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

exoticfruits · 20/08/2011 21:50

Eliza Faith. You don't want 2 A's when they are older-they won't know who the post is meant for. Eliza also sounds much better with Alice.

mopsyflopsy · 20/08/2011 22:02

I wouldn't name her Adelaide as you'd have two Miss A. XXX as they grow up.

Eliza is lovely but perhaps a little too similar to Alice when you're calling them out quickly. But if I had to choose, I'd choose this one.

Crosshair · 20/08/2011 22:03

Eliza.

Toobluntforboss · 20/08/2011 22:06

I think Eliza Faith sounds lovely!

sparkleshine · 20/08/2011 23:34

I prefer Eliza Faith. Not keen on Adelaide, but I do like Adele. What about Amber?

The post thing wouldn't bother me. At the end of the day, they will be living at home with you for far less years than not, so when off to uni or moved out etc, post isn't an issue. You only start really getting official post at 16 anyway.

InstantAtom · 21/08/2011 16:27

Eliza Faith

greenzebra · 21/08/2011 17:08

another vote for Eliza Faith

plinkplonk · 21/08/2011 21:10

Adelaide Faith sounds best imo. I wouldn't have an Alice and an ELiza - agree with Iggly on that.

emmanumber3 · 21/08/2011 23:16

I'd prefer Eliza if it were me. I do like the nn Addie but Adelaide itself I'm not keen on TBH.

I love Eliza Faith. I've read that Adelaide is related to Alice in some way (can't remember so that's not very useful). But I do love Eliza.

InstantAtom · 22/08/2011 20:48

Faith Eliza would be nice.
